Time for a blog renaissance

A lot of people are talking about abandoning Facebook, ever since they changed the layout and nobody likes the new one.

Or something like that.

Others are saying they’ll stay with Facebook because at least it made the trains run on time.

Those on the fence are wondering how they could possibly be expected to live their lives without it, since Facebook was created simultaneously with the Big Bang and in the history of the human race, there has never been another way to communicate with friends, share photographs, get news or find a $100 Chinese wristwatch that absolutely is better than a Rolex according to some guy in the comments named Kleb Frapstaff who owns three of them.

What about blogs? When I first started mine, I had a small group of friends who posted pretty much daily, often nothing longer than a longish Facebook post. We all read and commented on one another’s posts. I had their blogs bookmarked. As the blogosphere grew, I followed other blogs with an RSS feed and Google Reader. It worked fine.

Any reason we can’t do that?
